Everything tastes better on handthrown pottery. I made my dinnerware set because I got tired of keeping my mismatched pottery seconds. Keeping seconds made me realize I didn’t treat myself well and with love. This was the start to treating myself better. What does treating yourself better mean? To me it meant replacing harsh self-criticism with self-compassion, setting firm boundaries and cutting ties with people that do not respect them, prioritizing physical basics like sleep, and challenging negative thought patterns. I created small daily habits that help my overall emotional well-being like dancing, creating pottery, and painting. Do you have self love practices to share? I would love to hear them. To this day I’m glad I made changes and pottery is a big part of this. Every time I get lost clay and creativity always directs me to the right path. Re-created an old piece of jewelry that was originally on a brass wire. To make it symmetrical I sorted the puka shells by size and color on the bead board then added some shimmery baroque pearls for a little glimmer. I wish I took a before photo. My favorite on here is the glimmer. Do not let anyone ever take your glimmer.🪩🫧✨Shine on.
